Conan Visits Armenia

“Before you die, it’s not what you have, but what you have seen”, said someone famous. I somewhat agree with this statement. It seems that Conan O’Brien, late night chat show host, also agrees. This is because recently, information was released that Conan O’Brien visited the familiar country of Armenia filming a special episode of “Conan” with his assistant Sona Movsesian.

I personally always find it fascinating when people choose Armenia as a cultural holiday destination. My first experience of this particular fascination was when I was around 6 years old and went on a skiing holiday with my family. We were staying in a shared chalet where we met an elderly couple from Bath, who asked where we were from. When we told them that we were from Armenia, they immediately told us about their recent visit there. I intensely pondered as to why a couple from Bath would go to my country of origin.

Today, I would strongly encourage foreigners to visit Armenia to find a new world. I was very pleased at the news of Mr. O’Brien filming a special episode in Armenia, reaching a new audience with the full insight to the depth of such an individual culture.

Another television program that filmed an Armenia special is Booze Traveller; perhaps not as famous as the Kardashians or Conan O’Brien, the hosts toured the country drinking local cultural beverages. The painful morning after, they experienced khash, the local hangover cuisine.

Similarly to the Kardashians’ visit, Mr O’Brien receives a full tour of the country and I expect that it will be a humorous episode. His previous episodes have been rather amusing such as his visit to a Korean spa which was rather hilarious. I highly recommend for all to watch it. The show isn’t aired in the UK but it should be available afterwards, the episode will be aired on 10th November. Keep on travelling.
